A little about me...

Amanda attended Dancepoint Musical Theatre School and completed an intensive 4 year course, learning various styles of dance, drama and singing. This also enabled her to graduate with a Higher National Diploma in dance. Whilst attending Dancepoint she appeared as principal dancer/singer at all of their annual performance shows every year at locations including the SECC and the Mitchell Theatre. During her time at Dancepoint, Amanda was approached by her principal teacher, Robert Hamilton to become a resident teacher at Dancepoint, teaching musical theatre and street dance. During this time Amanda choreographed and trained the school’s under 16’s. She was also in a huge dance act The Fear Of the Unknown, where she took part in huge European dance competitions. She has also worked for DRC Youth Health Project and The Prince’s Trust developing a programme to promote healthy living through street dance. Amanda has been working with Razzamataz for 14 years now and now is proud to be the Principle of Glasgow North. During her time at Razzamataz she has choreographed many large events for venues such as Her Majesty’s Theatre, The London O2 and the magical stage at Disneyland Paris. Outwith her career, Amanda wanted to further her knowledge of children with special needs, she did this by attending training in Autism Awareness and completing a course in Neurodiversity. Amanda also has a passion in pushing young people to their potential in everyday life skills, this has been aided by becoming a NLP Practitioner where she implements these techniques onto her students.  She believes that she has acquired many transferable skills in relation to teaching children and feels she brings a lot to Razzamataz with her passion for the performing arts.
